A Convenção Internacional de Ciências, Educação e Medicina do Esporte - ICSEMIS 2016 terá como temática "Saying Yes to Diversity in Sport“. Esse evento tradicionalmente ocorre no mesmo país sede dos Jogos Olímpicos e Paralímpicos.
O evento ocorrerá entre 31 de agosto e 4 de setembro, exatamente na transição entre os Jogos Olímpicos e Paralímpicos.
São Organizadores do evento a Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Comitê Paralímpico Internacional, Federação de Medicina do Esporte e o Conselho Internacional de Ciência do Esporte e Educação Física ICSSPE
